History

The Amara Raja story began in 1985 with a vision that went far beyond building a business. After spending years in the United States, Dr. Ramachandra N. Galla returned to his homeland in Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh, driven by a deep desire to create meaningful change. He believed that entrepreneurship was not just about generating profits, it was about empowering people, creating opportunities, and contributing to society. What started as a humble endeavour soon grew into a mission to bring world-class manufacturing, employment, and development to the region. Guided by Dr. Galla's conviction that businesses have a responsibility to uplift communities, Amara Raja was built on the values of innovation, excellence, and social progress. Over the years, that vision transformed a small enterprise into one of India's most respected industrial groups, while staying true to its founding purpose of creating lasting impact for people and society.
