Amara Raja Energy & Mobility Limited’s manufacturing facilities are equipped with state-of-the-art technology and advanced machinery. Each plant is designed to enhance shop-floor efficiency through the adoption of globally recognised practices such as Lean Six Sigma, 5S and Quality Circle initiatives. The facilities also incorporate low-cost automation to reduce operator fatigue, improve productivity and enhance product quality. Our world-class integrated manufacturing operations continue to evolve in line with the latest technological advancements. Supporting this commitment to innovation is our in-house R&D centre, recognised by the Government of India, which drives the development of best-in-class products and solutions.
The battery plants are located at Karakambadi and the Amara Raja Growth Corridor (ARGC) in Chittoor District, Andhra Pradesh, India. The Karakambadi manufacturing facility consists of three plants (4 Wheeler, 2 Wheeler, and LVRLA), while the ARGC facility consists of four plants (4 Wheeler, 2 Wheeler, Tubular, and MVRLA). Together, these plants contribute to the growing volumes of Amara Raja Energy & Mobility Limited.
Amara Raja Energy & Mobility operates a total of 12 manufacturing facilities (including two plastic units and two New Energy plants), backed by over 3.64 million sq. ft of integrated shop-floor area. With a cumulative annualized capacity of 65+ million automotive batteries and an industrial-battery output capability of 3.2 billion AH, ARE&M is among India’s largest and most diversified battery manufacturers.
The network spans legacy battery plants at Karakambadi and the Amara Raja Growth Corridor (ARGC) in Andhra Pradesh, as well as newer New-Energy battery plants under ARACT in Telangana — reflecting the company’s strategic expansion into Lithium-ion and next-gen energy storage solutions.
